I do not think that your ECU is dead.
Open in TuneECU the appropriate mapping for your Daytona.
Possibly a power problem, please check the diagnostic connector (Pin 16) should fit in this about 12 volts.

BR, Tom

Phil Gordon:
I can get everything to work on my 06 675, green blinky lights, pulls the map, I assume I can upload maps, no problem.

But my 955i (99 bike with 2001 motor, harness and ECU...) just keeps telling me that the ECU will not respond. Is it a dead ECU or is it a failure on my part on getting the cable hooked up? I did not 'update the drivers' when I plugged in the cable to the 675 and it worked. Is that what's keeping the 955 from connecting with the ECU?

I think it's 1.5... Just check for power on Pin 16 of which connector? (the ECU on the bike has two).

I'm using the same port that I connected it to the 675 with. Never had to install any drivers, just worked! However, today my $300+ 'Replacement' TuneBoy cable came in, and I tried to connect it to both bikes also. 675 connects, 955 Doesn't.

I tried it out today with my laptop, TuneECU wouldn't let me download the tune that was in my bike's ECU (20081 OEM) to save it on the laptop, so I just proceeded to overwrite it with a newer OEM tune (20104) which it did perfectly, I used my Tuneboy USB cable. So congrats to all those involved developing this software and many thanks.:thumbup::grin::grin:

I've been out for a ride and the newer tune has definitely improved small throttle openings where previously it was quite snatchy (a pain when cornering) and it also seems smoother right through the range.

Yes - don't use the software installation though - use the FTDIchip driver

For ALL models - it's the cable driver, nothing to do with the bike.

Just like to say a big thankyou to Alain for providing a great tool and Tom for making it all available :thumbup::thumbup: - I thought I had a tune or CO setting problem as the bike would intemittently cough and splutter on a neutral throttle - but after using TuneECU I found out I had a stored error which told me I had a faulty Throttle Position Sensor - after replacing it and resetting the tps my bike is now fixed.

Sprint RS (00-01)

icon08 Jun 2010 18:21
Tom ive converted These the Sprint RS 00-01 files in the knowledge base into the TuneEcu Hex format.

Sprint RS '00. Tune 10078 modified.
NB! This tune is edited only on full throttle. The upper revs are leaned out a lot. Added 6-8 degrees ignition over the whole range. On my bike this gave 17hp increase!. This is a huge leap, but the reason is that the unmodified 10078 tune from Triumph is SO rich at high revs.
submitted by Kenneth Haagenstad, last revised 23/10/2004 17:09

PCIII tune based on 10078

PCIII (fuel) trim created on bike with K&N filter and Triumph aftermarket pipe. Makes a huge difference all over the rev-range. Note that this tune is just Dave Sillence's 9890 based fueltrim applied to the 10078 base tune. 9890 and 10078 are identical except for some minute differences in the x and y axis of the different maps. The end result is the same ;-)
submitted by Abb, last revised 26/10/2004 11:43

RS/ST tune by Wayne Macdonald
This tune has been created by Wayne using the real-time tuning option of Tuneboy 2.5. The bike had the Triumph aftermarket exhaust. The ignition map has been advanced and smoothed in the process. The result is an engine running smoother than I thought possible, give this one a try.
submitted by Abb, last revised 26/10/2004 11:48

Waynes 10078PFinal
Sprint ST/RS up to VIN 139264 For use with Triumph after market pipe. 18 Aug 2004, This map was modified on a DynoJet 250 dyno using the TuningLink connected to the TuneEdit program.
submitted by John DeSimone, last revised 06/02/2006 15:11

Where do i send them so you can add them to your lists for others to use these tunes via TuneEcu ???

Homer if tom is happy to (i cant see he wouldnt be) how can i get these tunes uploaded to the KB ?? for all to use with TuneEcu.

A couple of requests accommodated in latest v1.6 release!

Power-Tripp:
... Is there a way to adjust all or part of the F and L tables by a percentage? Scrolling each cell in the L tables is VERY time consuming - enough so that this would keep me from using it for tuning.

This capability now in V1.6
You can select individual or block or cells and adjust by %
Toggle F4 returns to incremental value mode

Power-Tripp:
... MAP output or highlighted on the table is required as well. ....

With Map Edit screen, in v1.6, the TPS & RPM are now 'active' on the axes in the 'F' tables and the MAP & RPM are active on the 'L' tables

Hello guys,
I want to help Alain in this job, so here's a display problem to solve.
I have an MSI netbook with a 1024x600 resolution, XP Home Ed. Sp3.
When I use Tuneecu, windows application bar(where is located the start button and the actual time) disappear.
I have to press "Alt and Tab" to swap from Tuneecu to another program or internet.
Someone have the same problem?
Can Alain post Tuneecu's old version, I'm searching for the 1.4.7 version, last that use .dat files, can someone help me?
Is possible to find this map in hex format: DVSz20214a AVI 05a.dat ?
Thank you very much and excuse my English.

Luca,

I may have v1.4.7 on one of the laptops at the shop. Let me check.

As for DVSz20214a AVI 05a.dat, that is one of my OLD maps that Jim modified for use with one of the Arrow race systems that does not have the resonance packing in the collector. There have been some improvements in TuneEdit since then that allow for much improved mapping.

Are you running a low mount exhaust without SAI?
What exactly are you running, I can likely send you something better than that old tune.

@ Power-Tripp. What tune would you suggest for my 2006 1050 Speed III? I have twin aftermarket high mount pipes -- same dimensions as stock, but no CATS and straight through pipes. SAI is installed and I have a Pipercross filter. At present I have the the 20133TuneDynoMod2-econo tune from http://www.thespeedtriple.com ftp site installed.

It's probably really obvious but I can't find how to adjust the 'fan on' and 'off' temperature settings.

It's an '02 S3 with the MC1000 ECU running map 20154 (20152) and am using TuneECU v1.6.4.

It's currently got the factory defaults of 'on' at 103degC and 'off' at 99degC and I'd like to set it to 'on' at 100degC and 'off' at 96degC.

Anybody care to point me in the right direction?

Anybody recommend a better map for a 99 Tona than the standard Tors map? I've got a high level and standard filter at the moment. Perhaps a bit more midrange would be nice.

I've seen snippets of info but nothing clean cut. Perhaps i'm just being blind. A lot of the info seems to be for the newer models also. I'm just after a few ideas to try. I've had a look in the KB on this site and there seem to be quite a few maps there for my model, a lot of them only get 2 stars. Also most of the tunes don't say what they actually improve.

I'd just be interested in what people think are say the top 5 maps. Perhaps some for top end or some for midrange to try.
