My S3 has developed a clicking noise upon acceleration then it stops until I use enging braking which loads up the drivetrain the opposite way. What I am trying to say is that from a standstill it will click (kinda like bad cv joints when you turn the steering wheel in a car) until the drivetrain has moved as far forward as it can. If I do not use engine braking to stop but instead clutch it and use the brakes, the noise is nearly nonexistant. However if after starting forward I use engine braking there is a clunk as the cush drive moves to the rearward part of the wheel and then once again upon taking off I will get the clicking noise.

I am assuming that the trouble is with the cush drive. 13K miles
